A small firm doing serious work.

We are deliberately small, which means the person in the seat matters. If you want exposure to complex corporate and real estate files rather than a narrow slice of them, we are worth a conversation.

GSG Law is a corporate, real estate and estates firm acting for high-net-worth individuals and successful businesses across British Columbia. As the practice grows we are looking for a Legal Assistant to work primarily on corporate and real estate matters.

The work is detailed and client-facing. You will sit close to the transactions rather than at the edge of them, in a firm small enough that good judgement is noticed.

What you would be doing.

Assist with incorporations, annual maintenance, share transfers, and corporate reorganizations.
Prepare and file corporate documents, including Name Requests, Notices of Articles, resolutions, transparency registers and annual reports.
Support commercial transactions, including drafting and reviewing closing documents, conducting due diligence searches, and completing PPSA filings.
Manage and maintain corporate records, minute books and entity databases.
Assist lawyers and conveyancers with residential and commercial real estate transactions, including conveyancing documents, statements of adjustments, Land Title Office filings, trust conditions and closing packages.
Coordinate real estate closings with clients, financial institutions, realtors and other law firms.
Conduct title, corporate and other registry searches as required.
Manage client onboarding and intake, including opening files, completing conflict checks, collecting identification and due diligence documentation, and maintaining client records.
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries and providing updates on file progress.
Draft correspondence, legal documents and reports, and assist with document management and organization.
Schedule meetings, manage calendars, coordinate appointments, and provide general administrative support.
Handle incoming calls, emails and client communications professionally and courteously.
— Qualifications

What we are looking for.

Minimum one year of experience as a Legal Assistant, with experience in corporate law, real estate and conveyancing, or commercial transactions preferred.
Strong knowledge of BC Corporate Registry filings, Land Title Office procedures and conveyancing processes.
Experience assisting with residential and commercial real estate transactions from opening to closing.
Familiarity with client intake procedures, conflict checks and file management systems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal document management software; experience with Unity is an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A professional, client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
— What we offer

What you get in return.

Full-time, in-person position at our Surrey office.
Exposure to complex, high-value corporate and commercial files.
A professional, respectful and collaborative firm culture.
Opportunities for career growth and development.
